
Public Health Human Resources in Ontario: Current and Future Research
National and provincial commissions have repeatedly identified concerns about the lack of information regarding the public health workforce. Having a competent and flexible public health workforce has been acknowledged as an important strategy to support public health renewal in Ontario including in reports from the Capacity Review Committee and the recently published Ontario public health sector strategic plan.
In this webinar, Dr. Sandra Regan will provide an overview of the current state of public health workforce research. She will present findings from the national study, Renewal of Public Health Systems (RePHS), a five-year CIHR funded program of research examining the implementation and impact of public health renewal activities in BC and Ontario. Dr. Regan will focus on the Ontario findings and the cross-cutting theme of public health human resources. Presenter
Sandra Regan, RN, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University. Her research program focuses on health human resources planning, policy, and management with a focus on public health, home care, and primary health care. She is a co-investigator on the Renewal of Public Health Systems study.
